Denim & Lace - Its a Hoot

Hi and welcome to you.
It's the last Thursday of the month which means it's Cheremane's day to inspire you.
I hope you managed to watch the fabulous Kanban show on Create & Craft yesterday.
Kanban have done it again with a fabulous
Brand New collection.
Denim & Lace

Today I thought I would share with you one of the sample's I made for the show.

It's a really simple card to make.
Cut the check card a little smaller than your blank card.
Lay your three toppers evenly across the check card and make a faint mark and cut three squares slightly smaller than the toppers.
Using glue gel place your topper onto you blank card.
Wrap you ribbon round the check card before placing on top of the card using 3d foam pads.
Now line your toppers up underneath (that's why its easier to use glue gel).
Attach a bow and finally add one of the gorgeous inserts to finish.

Whats more i'm really excited that on Sunday the 26th October
Kanban are having an open day.
There will be so much going on
Demo's and make and takes with the team (which includes me) come along and join in the fun we really can't wait to see you there.

Thanks for joining me here today.
Don't forget to follow us.
I will be back here again the last Thursday in November but keep your eyes peeled for lots more posts from the Team.

A gorgeous 'Sneaky Peek'...

Hello lovelies!

Well, I have something very exciting to show you today. I have a couple of sample's to share with you that will be on

at

8am

Wednesday 22nd October.....

which means you only have to wait until tomorrow to be able to buy a gorgeous new kit
brought to you from

The gorgeous new collection is called

'Denim and Lace'.

I loved creating my samples with this gorgeous kit, I really love the different elements to it. A very versatile collection too.

For this sample I chose to make an aperture card. I really wanted to show off the gorgeous floral background inside the card, which is an insert with 'Have a Wonderful Day'. The floral cardstock is a dream to die cut with, as you can see the end result on the card front. I love the owls and felt this was the perfect card shape to show them off beautifully. I added a couple of gems in the larger owls eyes for a bit of sparkle...

This sample shows off the gorgeous decorative card with the printed lace panel on. I absolutely love this lacy panel, it goes lovely with pretty lace tied in a bow. A simple, yet easy card to make.

All of the design team have been working very hard to create lot's of gorgeous samples for you to see on the show. Make sure you tune in to

at 8am tomorrow morning.

Hit the record button if you won't be around to see it at that time.

The 'Denim and Lace' collection is a must see and a must buy too!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these two samples from me today. I will be showing off lots more samples from this collection over on my blog

Tutorial Time

Hi everyone , Fran here today for you , on the 2nd Tuesday of every month I shall be bringing you a picture tutorial , showing you how I have made one of my cards using Kanban or Aspire goodies.

For today I am going to share with you how I created this card.

For this card I have used some Kanban 8x8 card , Dekromount Windows and Shutters , topper sheet from The Thoughts Of Spring , some gems and a sentiment from the small Creative Frames sentiment pad.

Firstly I took the 2 pieces of 8x8 card , scored down the side of one, and then adhered them together to form a card blank.

Next I stuck down the border and the sentiment.
After sticking the topper down , I then took the window frame and added some foam pads to the back to give it some depth.
Next I stuck one of the shutters down flat next to the window frame.
For the other shutter , I took a thin strip of card and scored it down the middle to create a hinge effect , and the adhered onto the window frame.

After finishing the card off with some bling , here is the finished card.

Thank you for joining me today on the Kanban Blog

Don't forget that there is a make and take event coming up soon .

Well a very happy hello from me...

Nicola!

I am really excited to bring you a  new feature on the Kanban blog every month.

'Nicola's Pink Pick of the Month'.

I love pink it is my favourite colour. I thought it would be a great idea to make a pink project using my Kanban kits, making sure the main focus is of course 'pink'.

I have been a fan of Kanban for many years and absolutely love the kits, I have so many that I have collected over the years. Of course being on the design team too means I also get to create with new designs.

I hope you like my 'pink' project for this month.

I have used from the Kanban range...

~ Hydrangea flowers pink foiled background card
~ Vintage rose background card
~ Lavender Accents paper craft toppers
~ Lavender rose elements paper craft toppers

I have used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Victorian Velvet for the edges of the back ground cards.

I would love you to follow the Kanban blog, we have lot's of exciting projects to show you from a fantastic, amazing design team.
